چکیده

The first references regarding the term arterial orthostatic hypertension, which means elevation of blood pressure values, when passing from clino- to orthostatism, date beginning 1940s [1]. Currently, there is no any consensus and are few reports studies on this subject, compared hypotension, although both pathologies assumed be based a common physiopathological mechanism - dysfunction autonomic nervous system. Because definition OHT differs one study another, development problematic. Specific recommendations treatment hypertension have not been drawn up, as evidence patology only limited non-randomized studies. aim article systematize data literature definition, establishment diagnosis pathophysiological hypertension.

Orthostatic hypertension. Pathogenetic studies.

Among 1800 referred hypertensive patients, 181 had recumbent diastolic blood pressures (DBP) below 90 mm Hg and standing DBP above 90 mm Hg. Orthostatic increments in DBP were greater in these orthostatic hypertensive patients than in 181 persistently hypertensive patients and 134 normotensive subjects. In 12 patients with orthostatic hypertension, the orthostatic fall in cardiac output (27.3 +...

[Effect of angiotensin blockade on the orthostatic response in patients with systemic arterial hypertension].

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES The effect of the treatment of arterial hypertension with angiotensin inhibitors on the autonomic response to orthostatism was studied. PATIENTS AND METHOD In 20 hypertensive patients, enalapril (10 to 20 mg) was administered daily for four weeks. Then, irbesartan (150 to 300 mg) was given for four weeks. Finally, 10 mg of enalapril combined with 150 mg of irbesart...
